Hello, Nice To Meet You!
My name is Chevi, yes, like the truck!
I am a Colorado based photographer, dreamer, and life enthusiast.
I found my way behind a camera many years ago, long before I ever dreamt it possible to make this a lifestyle… Staging photo sessions in the woods with my sisters, dressed in our mothers’ clothes that we had “snuck” from her closet, returning her heels covered in pine sap we couldn’t quite wash off.
I love photography as a creative endeavor, finding it to be a gift to humankind.
For me, photos are akin to energetic timestamps. I feel photos more than I look at them. Through making photos, I seek to keep the moment alive. Essentially creating a portal to revisit beautiful instances in time passed.
Along with picture making itself, I love connecting with my clients through the process of collaborating in this artistic process. I value having a trusting relation to my clients, thus ensuring I am best able to represent them and their essence through the images we make. Photo sessions should be fun! Structured but with room for breath, play, and creative expression. I hope that working with me would feel like spending time with a friend, a friend with a heavy camera around her neck!
My life on the other side of the camera looks like:
Long days spent in nature, basking in sunshine, or melting in rain. I spend time with pen to paper, writing poetry and short stories, giving the characters in my head a voice. Countless hours cuddling my beloved corgi, Laredo. Early mornings shoveling manure for my horse Walter, breathing in the scent of equine and crisp air that has become almost perfume-like at this point. Laughing with my family and friends on joyful days, dancing through pain when things feel almost too much to bear. Being human, I spend a lot of time just being human.
